25th Foundar's Day

The school celebrated the 25th Founders Day on July 31, 2009 which coincided with the founder Dr. H. K. Rawal’s 60th birthday. Pujya Swamiji and Pujya Sawmi Satyamitranandji were the chief guests at the occasion. The students presented dance, music and theatrical performances, and the parents, the staff and the alumni participated in the event enthusiastically. It was gratifying to realise that in 25 years the school has gone from strength to strength, while holding steadfast to its core values and ethos.

22nd Annual Sports Day

The day 15th October, 2009 will be recorded in the history of Mussoorie International School ( MIS) as new budding stars craved to set their own mark in the nd Annual Sports Day. The Day witnessed some spectacular sporting display by our stars who had already won laurels in various international and state level championships.

The proceedings commenced with the chief guest Mr. V. K. Dandona IGP, ITBP declaring the sports meet open. Mrs. Mahrukh Singh, Director MIS addressed the gathering and inspired the rising/emerging sports stars of MIS with her encouraging words.

What followed was an impressive run with the torch by the senior girls, each of whom had represented the School and won laurels for it at some event or the other during the academic year. 9. The House Captains led by the Sports Captain then formally took the Oath to ensure that the participants followed the decorum of the sport and played fair in the true spirit of sportsmanship.

After this the people witnessed a breathtaking March past by the three houses Laxmi, Gayatri and Santoshi under the band played by Gorkha regiment.

This was followed by a spectacular display of Karate and Yoga by the primary and middle school. The primary school students under the able guidance of a professional instructor portrayed their spine-tingling karate skills in breaking tiles and demonstrating several self defensive methods. This was followed by a colourful yoga with umbrella by the middle school depicting the theme of CHILD LABOUR. The students portrayed the frightfulness of CHILD LABOUR and how the present generation is burdened by overloaded school bags and various subjects.

Finally the sports meet came to a close with the thanksgiving by the Director, Mrs. Mahrukh Singh and the concluding speech by the Chief Guest, Mr. V K Dandona where he also brought the sports meet to a close

Mr. Dandona wished the students the very best, congratulated them for the wonderful display of Marching and said that Mussorie International school certainly was one of the finest international educational institution in the country

Said Mr. Dandona “Sports and Games foster friendship unity and discipline among the youth besides physical fitness”, he said and called upon them to keep on practicing and work hard with a sporting spirit so that they could continue to outshine and reach higher tournaments at the State and National levels..He appreciated the school management for their emphasis on all round development of their students and said he could see the in these young girls standing before him future of the world .

Mrs. Mahrukh Singh, in her address to the students and the parents complimented the School on its excellent performance and expressed her immense happiness over the proceedings and the discipline maintained by the children. She congratulated the Staff for all the effort put in and said that it was an excellent display of teamwork.

The eventful day came to a glorious end with the rendition of the National Anthem sung in unison with gusto.

Even as parents and students were vacating the stadium echoes of cheers rent the air signaling the success of Mussoorie International School Sports Day. Thus the unique sporting display finally came to a close.
