Club & Socities

There is a lot more than academics that make a child well-rounded personality. To bring out the innate talents of a child and develop her talents, MIS has a host of clubs. These clubs cater to varied interests like public speaking and debating, writing, event management, editing and journalism, photo journalism and scientific skills.

THE LINCOLN DEBATING SOCIETY:

This club helps the children hone and develop the art of public speaking by taking part in numerous inter-school debating competitions at local and national levels. The club also organises and conducts debates, elocution and declamation contests. The students constitute the office bearers who train and organise the other members of the club. They have been successful in winning trophies and prizes and have proved themselves to be a force to reckon with when it comes to public speaking and debating.

THE MIS NEWS NETWORK (MNN):

The school is kept updated with the latest news through the weekly news edition every Friday morning. This covers sections and segments like headlines of the week, hot news, international, national, local, business news, sports and games, birthday greetings, and weather updates. The students constitute the office bearers, correspondents, DTPs, photo journalists and news readers. The work of compiling, editing and setting of the news as well as news reading is carried out by the members supervised by the office bearers.

THE HORIZON – A QUARTERLY NEWS LETTER:

This club brings out the quarterly newsletter which publishes reports of all the activities and leading events that take place during the course of the period. It also encourages students to contribute articles providing them with a platform to express their views, write poems, short stories or articles of interest. The students constitute the office bearers of Chief Editor, Co-chief Editor, DTPs and other members who are allotted portfolios of Assistant Editors for Cultural Activities, Sports and Games, Literary Events and Competitions, Scoops and Wanderers, Critic of the Month and General Affairs.

Entertainment

During free time, the girls watch appropriate channels on cable television, and Indian and western films on a full-screen LCD in the school theatre.
